Oslo scores another hit with Beneva vs Clark Nova and its debut long player, Sombunall (that's "Some But Not All" for those of you not up on the lingo). Drawing from electronic and acoustic instrumentation, the Norwegian duo have succeeded in creating the most impressive "folktronic" release since Four Tet's mesmerizing Rounds back in 2003, and there's certainly room to argue that BvCN even surpasses this mark. Venturing into twee indie at times, the dynamic duo demonstrates an amazing ability to stay focused even when working in less familiar territory. But ultimately its the glitchy-yet-smooth interpretation of modern electronica that will win over the listener's heart. If "I'm Twins" and "88 Kilos of Excrement" don't grab you from the beginning, then I'm afraid you're just getting too old. Sombunall comes with our highest recommendation.
