After gracing our best of 2006 list as an honorable mention, Yasushi Yoshida returns in style with Little Grace. The sophomore album picks up where Secret Figure left off, continuing down routes of exploration pioneered by World's End Girlfriend and Kashiwa Daisuke. Where his immediate influences often favor the electronic side of life, Yoshida leans towards the organic; indeed, in Little Grace even more emphasis is placed upon live instrumentation and electronic sounds are kept to a minimum and drastically downplayed. The resulting work is much less chaotic and much more composed than his peers, and at times is just straight up neo-classical music. The experimental flair can be found amongst the beautiful soundscapes, but Yoshida draws a clear intent to allow the aesthetic quality of the music rise to the forefront.
