In what has already become a pretty solid year for fans of electronica, Booka Shade has the tough task of following the critically acclaimed Movements. While Memento predated the resurgence of minimal techno, Movements saw the duo striding into their own niche in the electronhouse field, and The Sun & Neon Light is perhaps their most varied and eclectic mix of tracks yet, arguably a signal that the project has hit its creative zenith. Playing off the dichotomy of man's experience with the organic and artificial worlds, TS&NL is as smooth and satisfying a listen as you can expect as Booka Shade still pushes the enevelope with all its might. Although many electronic acts lose motivation after their initial releases, Booka Shade has done just the opposite by instead picking up momentum with every subsequent album. Essential summer listening.
