A proper follow-up of his highly acclaimed See, Dark Times witnesses Cam Butler returning to the composer table and hashing out a new work with The Shadows of Love Orchestra. As its name suggests, Dark Times is a gloomier affair than its predecessor, but it still comes with the highly cinematic flair that Cam Butler is known for. Butler is back to his old tricks again on the new album, the difference is that the over blown dramatics are toned down and he picks up the slack with some humanistic, organic emotions. Perhaps this is a result of his work in the acoustic Healing Feelings, or maybe just a general shift in tone for the new album, but regardless, Dark Times is an excellent album that is thrilling from start to finish.
