If you've been lamenting the death of post-metal over the past two years, welcome to Quietly. Ohio's Mouth of the Architect rightfully reclaims its throne after 2006's magnificent The Ties that Blind, and Quietly is certainly no disappointment. Having undergone a slight lineup change since its last outing, the band is as sharp as ever, delivering a signature blend of devastating metal and chaotic atmosphere. With apexes that redefine what it means to be brutal and textures that make lesser bands drool with envy, every second of the album has the listener sitting on the edge of his seat. As usual, Mouth of the Architect comes with the highest of recommendations.
