I Am David Sparkle started out as an improvisational band in 2001 and was one of the first bands to play instrumental and post-rock music in Singapore. The band writes music that draws inspiration from life, love and beauty, and invites the listener to explore the depths of human emotion.
I Am David Sparkle was awarded “Best Alternative Act” at the 2006 Motorola Super Style Music Awards, and has shared festival stages with international acts such as Copeland (USA), Furniture (Malaysia) at BayBeats 2005, Agrikulture (Indonesia), Jurassic5 (USA), The Beastie Boys (USA) at Good Vibrations 2007, Simian Mobile Disco (UK), Futon (Thailand) and Pop Shuvit (Malaysia).
I Am David Sparkle comprises Amran Khamis and Djohan Johari on guitar, Farizwan Fajari on bass and Zahir Zanosi on drums.
